today is sunday.  a week before Christmas and temps are in the 50's.  nice!  within the last several days, i have dyed quite a bit of fabric.  it really felt good to do that.  it is the best part of being an artist.  the other stuff, the back of the house organization and up-keep takes away from my precious dyeing time..... the new colours are completely bold and fearless.  i am putting the colours down with patience and also with a forced lack of concern.  i have always found that my best work just happens.  it is not mapped out or planned.  i formulated a mirage of colours, about 18 in all.  within those colours, there is not one that can't be put beside another.  in nature, all colours jumble together.  on my silk, as long as i don't mix two that make mud, i am delighted to see my doubts transform to a smile.
