today was a beautiful
day. you know the kind of day i am talking about. every act from every scene from every play was layed
out in a mixed up yet strangely logical order. the morning opened with the brillant performance of the sun. though
the temperatures were low during the day, the sun's warmth made the cold surprisingly inoffensive. by mid-morning,
a huge swipe of cloud cover rolled in. these clouds were back lighted with a silver shimmer that paved their
jagged edges with a sparkling glow. the wind kicked in and the clouds raced each other across the open plain of
the horizon. then came the calm. the quiet calm of silent birds and stilled traffic. the
sunset had to be spectacular. and it was. my words could never compare. my words cannot do it justice.
the images speak the truth and even then, the images do not capture the whole truth. you had to see it to
grasp it.....i panned the entire mountain range beginning in the west until i bumped up against the full moon in the
east. good, i thought. this was worth leaving the warmth of our oh so very cozy home..... yet, within a matter
of minutes, after i was back in the truck winging my way home, the sky had completely changed. now it offered up
a tune of blue greens that made me shake my head..... i need to learn patience. i need to watch the whole of the
sky perform. i need to give it the chance to finish its act. even if it is cold....... this daily event is
so very , very special. it paves the way for the beauty of deep and dark night.
